We have two new varieties of finger lime ‘Crystal’ with it’s exceptional popping vesticles, which adds an extra dimension to salads and desserts. Also ‘Red Champagne’ which compliments champagne perfectly with it’s flavours of spiced apple and apricot and berry aromas.
Two new Leucadendrons ‘Strawberry Fair’ with it’s strawberry shaped flowers and ‘Cream Delight’ which has cream and pink blooms. Finally Agapanthus ‘Baby Pete’ is a compact agapanthus which has a clump height of 20cm with flower stems approximately 35cm.
If you are keen on Persimmons then you are in luck. The non-astringent variety Ichikikei Jiro is now available. Jiro bears large tomato shaped orange coloured sweet fruit and is a dwarf, self-fertile and seedless selection which can be grown in a small backyard.

USES: The highly decorative foliage makes this an ideal addition to gardens, windbreaks,and coastal plantings.
POSITION: Choose a sunny to partly shaded position. Requires well drained soils but will tolerate lime. Avoid boggy poorly drained soil.
CARE: Prune after flowering to maintain compact growth.
PLANTING: Cultivate soil before planting. Dig hole twice the width of the container. Remove plant from container and place into the hole so the soil level is the same as the surrounding ground. Fill hole firmly and water in well even if the soil is moist.
Three other varieties of Adenanthos are currently available.
Hass is a fast grower that is frost tolerent to -1°C and grows into a large tree.
Hazzard is a semi dwarf with good fruit bearing and some frost tolerence.
Rincon has a spreading habit and is good for pots. It’s frost hardy to -3°C/-4°C. It has long necked pear shaped fruit.
Wurtz is a dwarf plant that is gereat for tubs.
Pinkerton is an ideal backyard variety has a small seed and top eating quality.
